Keith Mincher is an English football coach and sports psychologist. He is most notable for a very brief spell as manager at Carlisle United in 1999. Mincher, who played football only at amateur level, worked at Leeds United as a youth coach and was chairman Leslie Silver's choice to succeed Eddie Gray as manager. However following a dressing room revolt the plan was shelved and Doncaster Rovers manager Billy Bremner was appointed instead.[1] Mincher was appointed manager of Carlisle United on 18 June 1999 but departed the club on 25 June without taking charge of a game.[2] Mincher's resignation came against a background of turmoil at the club under the chairmanship of Michael Knighton.[3] Mincher has subsequently worked as a sports psychologist at Nottingham Forest,[4] Watford[5] and Colchester United[6] as well as with the England national under-21 football team.[7] References1. ^Leeds United 1985-86 {{Carlisle United F.C. managers}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Mincher, Keith}}2. ^Carlisle United records {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20111102220538/http://www.carlisleunited.co.uk/page/ClubRecords/0%2C%2C10361%2C00.html |date=2011-11-02 }} 3. ^Carlisle United reject now relaishing life in the Scottish League 4. ^Careers after football: Jack Lester plans for the future 5. ^[https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/the-premiership-interview-from-kitchen-to-keeping-foster-has-the-ingredients-to-handle-heat-412466.html The Premiership Interview: From kitchen to keeping, Foster has the ingredients to handle heat] 6. ^Fly on the wall to aid Colchester United's promotion push 7. ^McParland: Sven will make my life easier 7 : Living people|Year of birth missing (living people)|Carlisle United F.C. managers|English football managers|English psychologists|Leeds United F.C. non-playing staff|Sheffield United F.C. non-playing staff |
