The only species, Lordhowea insularis, is endemic to Australia's Lord Howe Island in the Tasman Sea.[1][2][3]Lordhowea insularis is a tall, woody herb growing to 1–2 m in height with distinctive, deeply toothed leaves and clusters of yellow flowers. It is found on basalt soils on open, sunny ridges, as well as in light-canopied forest. Its seeds are wind-dispersed.[4] References1. ^1 2 Flann, C (ed) 2009+ Global Compositae Checklist {{webarchive|url=https://archive.is/20141217182608/http://dixon.iplantcollaborative.org/CompositaeWeb/default.aspx?Page=NameDetails&TabNum=0&NameId=ab6daa9b-603c-4b92-94f2-659049681972 |date=2014-12-17 }} {{Taxonbar|from=Q28371802}}{{Senecioneae-stub}}2. ^Nordenstam, Rune Bertil. 1978.
