CareerPlaying careerHis playing career started at Yeovil Town where he made his debut at 17 in the 1992–93 season. After three seasons at the club, West Ham United bought McPherson for £30,000 in a three-year deal,[1] which, dependent upon appearances, would have risen to £200,000.[2] His time at Upton Park was riddled with injury; the longest period of fitness being three months. He was restricted to reserve team games.[1] After loan spells with Dagenham & Redbridge and Swedish Premier Division side IFK Norrköping he turned down a year's contract extension at the premier league club West Ham.[1] He signed for Brentford, reaching the Division One play off final at Wembley, losing in the final to Crewe Alexandra in 1996–97 season. In the 1997–98 season Brentford, were relegated under the management of Micky Adams from Division Two to Division Three. McPherson had torn his thigh muscle and at the end of the season he left Brentford.[1] Coaching careerMcPherson has coached in New Zealand with Waitakere United.[3] and as at March 2018, is currently the Head Coach for Waiheke United References1. ^1 2 3 {{cite web|url=http://macthehack.webs.com/wherearetheynow.htm|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120315205158/http://macthehack.webs.com/wherearetheynow.htm|archivedate=2012-03-15|title=Mac the Hack|publisher=macthehack.coms.com |date= |accessdate=9 December 2010}} 2. ^{{cite news|url=https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/sporting-digest-football-1398497.html|title=Sporting Digest: Football|publisher=www.independent.co.uk |date=7 January 1994 |accessdate=9 December 2010}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://za.klikfc.com/article/101213/Focus-shifts-for-Youth-League-finalists|title=Focus shifts for Youth League finalists|publisher=za.klikfc.com |date=7 April 2010 |accessdate=9 December 2010}} External links
