释义 |
The Salt River Valley is an extensive valley on the Salt River in central Arizona, which contains the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Although this geographic term still identifies the area, the name "Valley of the Sun" popularly replaced the usage starting in the early 1930s for purposes of boosterism. A common dust for testing air filter efficiency was derived from top soil dust from the Salt River Valley, referred to as Arizona Dust.[1] The dust was found to include small abrasive particles.[2] References1. ^{{cite web|title=Test Dust History|url=http://www.powdertechnologyinc.com/test-dust-contaminants/test-dust-history/|accessdate=July 6, 2013|work=Powder Technology Incorporated (PTI)}} {{Coord|33.3811546|-112.3129333|display=title}}2. ^{{cite news|title=Sandstorms give Phoenix a break from oppressive heat, but sometimes they turn deadly|date=September 10, 2015|first=Nigel |last=Duara|work=Los Angeles Times|url=http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-ff-arizona-haboob-20150910-story.html}} {{col-begin}}{{col-2}} 4 : River valleys of the United States|Valleys of Arizona|Landforms of Maricopa County, Arizona|Landforms of Gila County, Arizona |
