The firm created its Atlanta office in May 1999, by merging with Varner, Stephens, Humphries & White. And, effective January 1, 2000, Stites & Harbison merged with the intellectual property practice of Wheat, Smith & Beres, PLC. On January 1, 2001, Stites & Harbison combined with the Nashville firm of Farris, Warfield & Kanaday.
