He was the second ruler in the Eisō lineage of monarchs; that is, his father was King Eisō and his son was King Eiji.[3] The years of Taisei's reign at Shuri were uneventful. Taisei was the grandfather of Tamagusuku, who would become the first monarch of the kingdom of Chūzan in central Okinawa.[4] See also
