Named after the settlement of Treklyano in western Bulgaria. LocationThe island is located at {{coord|62|22|04|S|59|24|35|W|}} which is {{convert|3.8|km|mi|abbr=on}} northwest of Kitchen Point, {{convert|1.4|km|mi|abbr=on}} west of Smirnenski Point and {{convert|6.6|km|mi|abbr=on}} southeast of Newell Point (Bulgarian early mapping in 2009).
