Ltd.[1] Early lifeMr. Bagaria hails from business family with interests in Retail (since 1938), Manufacturing (1949), Pharma & Biotech (1979), Industrial Gases (1974), Construction (1961), Real Estate (1974) and Warehousing (1986). During university education in USA, he received the coveted National Collegiate Government Award and was nominated to the Who’s Who in American Colleges & Universities. Amit started his career with The New York Times and Hallmark Cards.[2] Career in IndiaOn returning to India, he spent 4 years in family business, then ventured on his own in 1992. Up to 1996, he was in the business of Travel Services and Medical Equipment/Appliances. In 1996, he set up a 50:50 JV with an American Fortune 500 corporation, to provide healthcare consulting and hospital planning/design. The JV did projects of over Rs. 20 Billion for Tatas, Reliance, Aditya Birla, ILFS, Sahara, Escorts, Max & Wockhardt, partnered with RTKL and NBBJ on 11 projects during which he went through formal and practical training on urban project planning and facility planning, and with McKinsey, Ernst & Young Global and Arthur Anderson on several assignments. From 2003 onwards, he has been transforming the company to expand its variety of projects and basket of services. Amit was a Member of the CII National Committee on Health and an invitee speaker at leading B-schools, Retail Forums, Fashion Forums, CREDAI National Convention, Hotel Investment Conference South Asia (HICSA). He has co-authored a bestseller book on Hospital Planning, and has written several articles in Indian Express, Images Retail and Images Mall Yearbook.
