Born the son of Oliver Lyttelton, 1st Viscount Chandos, and Moira Osborne, Chandos was educated at Eton and then Trinity College, Cambridge.[1][2] Chandos served in the General Staff during World War II in the Mediterranean from 1942–45, where he was mentioned in despatches.[1] After the war, in 1950 Chandos joined the stockbrokers Panmure Gordon & Co. where he stayed until 1975.[1] Chandos married Caroline Mary Lascelles, daughter of Sir Alan Lascelles, by whom he had two sons and two daughters (the eldest of whom, Thomas, became the third Viscount on his death).[1][2] External links
