Ayedonitsky ({{lang-ru|Аедони́цкий}}; masculine) or Ayedonitskaya ({{lang|ru|Аедони́цкая}}; feminine) is a Russian last name.[1] It was artificially created from the Latin word aedon, meaning nightingale and was given in Russian Orthodox seminaries[1] either to students who sang well in a choir[2] or as a Latin translation of the Russian last name Solovyov.[1]ReferencesNotes1. ^1 2 Ganzhina, p. 15
