Chennaikku Oru Isai Vanakkam ({{lang-ta|சென்னைக்கு ஒரு இசை வணக்கம்}}) is a musical tribute to resilient Chennai, created by Angre & Nut. Tune & Concept of this song was done by A’Sam & K’Sam. The song was sung by Sam P. Keerthan & Priya Prakash. Lyrics for this song was written by A’Sam, Ruban, Karthik & Preethy.

Background

The composer's first and second homes; Chennai, India and Japan became victims to Tsunami in the years 2004 [1]

and 2011 [2] and both the places proven to be resilient. Chennaikku Oru Isai Vanakkam song was created to pay a music tribute to a resilient Chennai that has got over the Tsunami tides and has many more to offer to the world such as the hospitality of Tamil culture, medical tourism hub of India [3]

Audio Release

Music CD of this song was jointly released by Hope Foundation - an NGO and Angre & Nut a cross-cultural creative caucus. The first copy was released on the 12OCT12 by Mr. V. Kalyanam, Personal Secretary to Mahatma Gandhi and was received by Mr. Santhana Bharathi (Director – Actor). This song is downloadable online and the proceedings of this work will support the research on Corneal Blindness and Cancer Treatment by M/s Hope Foundation .[4][5]

English Translation

“Madras Nalla Madras” is the title of an old film song in the Late 60’s and its colonial name was Madras

Today Madras is called Chennai (Old name Chennapatnam) and the name Singara Chennai implies a Charming Chennai

It is a dream land of hope for many from all over the country and a truly cosmopolitan per se

It’s the capital of the Tami speaking state of Tamil Nadu

And always continues to be the place for people from all over the world
