It was described by Walter Rothschild in 1917.[1] It is found in New Guinea.[2] The wingspan is about 53 mm. The forewings are deep liver brown with a large antemedian grey and black stigma, a median transverse black band and the outer one-third with a somewhat ill-defined postdiscal grey band and grey cloudings beyond. The basal half of the hindwings is orange suffused with brown and crossed by a dark band, while the outer half is dull brown slightly suffused with orange and crossed by a greyish-olive band edged with serrated brownish cloud lines.[3] References1. ^{{LepIndex |id=58186 |name=Paracydas postpallida |accessdate=May 20, 2018}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q20686307}}{{Bombycoidea-stub}}2. ^{{cite web |last=Zolotuhin |first=Vadim |date=October 22, 2012 |url=http://www.papua-insects.nl/insect%20orders/Lepidoptera/Eupterotidae/Eupterotidae%20list.htm |title=The Giant Lappet Moths (Lepidoptera: Eupterotidae) of Papua Indonesia |website=Papua-Insects.nl |publisher=The Papua Insects Foundation}} 3. ^{{cite journal |last=Rothschild |first=Lord |date=1917 |url=http://biostor.org/reference/59007/page/1 |title=On the Genera Melanothrix, Drepanojana, Melanergon, Paracydas, Cotana, Hypercydas, Epicydas, and Nervicompressa of the Family Eupterotidae with Descriptions of New Forms |journal=Novitates Zoologicae |volume=24 |pages=463–492 |doi=10.5962/bhl.part.23154 |via=BioStor}} 2 : Moths described in 1917|Eupterotinae |
