Reverend Canon Edward Denis Tyndall {{post-nominals|country=GBR|MC}} (1890 – December 9, 1965) was an Anglican priest in the 20th century.[1] Educated at Pembroke College, Oxford and ordained in 1915, Tyndall was a curate at the Church of the Ascension, Stirchley. He served as a chaplain to the British Armed Forces during the First World War and was awarded the Military Cross in the 1918 New Year Honours.[2] He held incumbencies at St Jude's Church, Birmingham and then St James' Whitehaven before his appointment as Provost of St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth.[3] During his incumbency of St Jude's Birmingham, he and his curate, Michael Parker, compiled Adoremus: A Book of Eucharistic Worship for the Young.[4] The book was described {{who|date=December 2012}} as "primarily for use at what is known as the Children's Eucharist" but was also "to meet the need of the increasing number of parishes in which there is the 'Parish Eucharist'".[5] He died on 9 December 1965.[6] References1. ^Crockford's Clerical Directory 1940-41 Oxford, OUP,1941 {{Portal|Anglicanism}}{{S-start}}{{S-rel|ac}}{{S-bef|before=Lumsden Barkway}}{{S-ttl|title=Provost of St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth|years=1944 – 1955}}{{S-aft|after=Wilfred Currie}}{{S-end}}{{Provosts of St Ninian's Cathedral, Perth}}{{authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Tyndall, Edward Denis}}{{Scotland-bio-stub}}{{Christian-clergy-stub}}2. ^{{London Gazette |issue=30450 |date=1 January 1918 |page=48 |supp=y}} 3. ^”Scottish Episcopal Clergy, 1689-2000” Bertie, D.M: Edinburgh T & T Clark {{ISBN|0-567-08746-8}} 4. ^Adoremus, Denis Tyndall & Michael Parker, SPCK, 1936 5. ^Adoremus, Denis Tyndall & Michael Parker, SPCK, 1936 6. ^Obituary The Times (London, England), Tuesday, Dec 14, 1965; pg. 12; Issue 56504 8 : 1890 births|1965 deaths|Alumni of Pembroke College, Oxford|Provosts of St Ninian's Cathedral, Perth|Royal Army Chaplains' Department officers|Recipients of the Military Cross|World War I chaplains|British Army personnel of World War I |
