The area of the district is {{convert|763.2|km2|sp=us}}.{{citation needed|date=January 2012}} Its administrative center is the town of Furmanov.[2] Population (excluding the administrative center): {{ru-census2010|6,733|;}} 6,524 (2002 Census);[3] {{su-census1989|8,017|.}} Administrative and municipal statusThe town of Furmanov serves as the administrative center of the district.[2] Prior to the adoption of the Law #145-OZ On the Administrative-Territorial Division of Ivanovo Oblast in December 2010, it was administratively incorporated separately from the district.
