He was the Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Scottish Parliament constituency of Angus South, elected at the 2011 election. Dey received 16,164 votes, representing 58.5% of the vote, a 38.3% majority.[2] Dey is a journalist, having worked for DC Thomson since 1980 and serving as sports editor of The Courier.
