Though none of his releases to date have achieved a high level of commercial success, they have received critical acclaim in his home country of Australia from national press including: The Australian,[9] The Weekend Australian[10] and The Sydney Morning Herald,[11] and Arts and Entertainment websites including: The Music,[12] TheAUReview,[13] Timber & Steel,[14] Fasterlouder,[15] Beat,[16] and MusicFeeds.[17]

Carty has toured consistently throughout Australia, the United States of America and Canada appearing at festivals such as: South By South West (SXSW),[18] Canadian Music Week (CMW),[19] Woodford Folk Festival,[20] Queenscliff Music Festival (QMF),[21] and Mullum Music Festival,[22] supporting artists including: Josh Pyke,[23] Justin Townes-Earle,[24] Matt Corby,[25] Katie Noonan,[26] Robert Ellis,[24] Ingrid Michaelson[27] and Joshua Radin[28] and completing his own headline tours (the most recent being in August/September/October 2013 launching "The Predictable Crisis of Modern Life" E.P.[29]

Honors and awards

In 2010 Carty won "Acoustic Singer-Songwriter of the Year at the National MusicOZ Awards"[30]
