James Roger Madalena, Sr.[2] (Jemez Pueblo, born October 31, 1948) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, representing District 65 since January 1985.

Education

Madalena earned his BA from Eastern New Mexico University.

Elections

  • 2012 Madalena was unopposed for both the June 5, 2012 Democratic Primary, winning with 2,691 votes[3] and the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 7,072 votes.[4]
  • 1984 Madalena was first elected to the New Mexico Legislature in the November 6, 1984 General election and was re-elected in the general elections of November 4, 1986, and November 8, 1988.
  • 1990 Madalena was unopposed for both the June 5, 1990 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,759 votes[5] and the November 6, 1990 General election, winning with 3,127 votes.[6]
  • 1992 Madalena was unopposed for both the June 2, 1992 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,700 votes[7] and the November 3, 1992 General election, winning with 3,351 votes.[8]
  • 1994 Madalena was unopposed for both the June 7, 1994 Democratic Primary, winning with 2,028 votes[9] and the November 8, 1994 General election, winning with 3,666 votes.[10]
  • 1996 Madalena was unopposed for the June 4, 1996 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,402 votes[11] and won the November 5, 1996 General election against Republican nominee Robert Walker.
  • 1998 Madalena was unopposed for both the June 2, 1998 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,821 votes[12] and the November 3, 1998 General election, winning with 2,878 votes.[13]
  • 2000 Madalena was unopposed for the 2000 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,075 votes[14] and won the November 7, 2000 General election with 3,695 votes (73.5%) against Libertarian candidate Charles Mellon.[15]
  • 2002 Madalena was unopposed for both the 2002 Democratic Primary, winning with 2,170 votes[16] and the November 5, 2002 General election, winning with 3,921 votes.[17]
  • 2004 Madalena was unopposed for both the June 1, 2004 Democratic Primary, winning with 2,166 votes[18] and the November 2, 2004 General election, winning with 6,307 votes.[19]
  • 2006 Madalena was unopposed for both the June 6, 2006 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,802 votes[20] and the November 7, 2006 General election, winning with 5,427 votes.[21]
  • 2008 Madalena was unopposed for both the June 8, 2008 Democratic Primary, winning with 2,740 votes[22] and the November 4, 2008 General election, winning with 8,049 votes.[23]
  • 2010 Madalena was unopposed for both the June 1, 2010 Democratic Primary, winning with 1,813 votes[24] and the November 2, 2010 General election, winning with 5,066 votes.[25]
