Joel Jaffe (born January 15, 1952), also known as J. Jaffe, is an American audio engineer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and President and CoFounder of Studio D Recording, Inc. He worked on a number of GRAMMY award winning records and has been a significant presence in the Bay Area music scene for over 30 years. Jaffe has been a member of NARAS for over 20 years, having been on the board for 12 years and having held the positions of Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President of the San Francisco chapter.[1]

Jaffe has worked on projects with artists including Huey Lewis and the News, Joe Satriani, Ringo Starr, Gene Krupa, Buddy Greco, Those Darn Accordions, Melissa Etheridge, The Stylistics, Eddie Money, Dick Dale, David Gray, McCoy Tyner, Soundgarden, Roy Rogers, Maria Muldaur, Smash Mouth, Night Ranger, Santana, Umphrey's McGee, and Bonnie Raitt.[2]
