Opened in August 1996, the mall features Forever 21, J.C Penney’s, Dillard's, Nordstrom, Macy's, and Dick's Sporting Goods as its anchor stores. HistoryPark Meadows opened in 1996 with Dillard's, and the first Nordstrom in the state of Colorado.[5] Both Joslins and Foley's (now Macy's) opened at the mall in 1997, and JCPenney opened in 1999.[2] It was the largest mall in the Denver metropolitan area.[3] When Dillard's bought the Joslins chain in 1998, the Park Meadows store was sold to Lord & Taylor, which opened in 1999.[4] The Hahn Company, who built the mall, sold it to The Rouse Company the same year.[5] A movie theater opened by United Artists closed in 2000 and became Galyan's, now Dick's Sporting Goods.[6] Lord & Taylor closed its store at the mall in 2004.[7] Also that year, General Growth Properties acquired the mall when it bought Rouse's portfolio.[5] In 2006, the Lord & Taylor building was demolished for an outdoor promenade.[3][8] Borders Books & Music, a tenant of the outdoor section, closed in 2011. A year later, it was replaced by Forever 21.[9]References1. ^1 2 3 {{cite web | url=https://www.brookfieldpropertiesretail.com/properties/property-details/park-meadows.html | title=Park Meadows | publisher=Brookfield Properties Retail Group}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/stories/1997/06/23/story8.html?page=all|title=Park Meadows' Joslins, Foley's prepare for battle|last=Vasquez|first=Beverly|date=22 June 1997|work=Denver Business Journal|accessdate=16 May 2013}} 3. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/stories/2006/10/16/daily3.html|title=Park Meadows announces expansion plan|date=16 October 2006|work=Denver Business Journal|accessdate=16 May 2013}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-67568427.html|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150924162209/http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-67568427.html|dead-url=yes|archive-date=24 September 2015|title=Park Meadows Joslins to Take Year to Change Store to Reopen in '99 as a Lord & Taylor.|last=Bunn|first=Dina|date=11 September 1998|work=Rocky Mountain News|accessdate=16 May 2013}} 5. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/print-edition/2011/08/05/park-meadows-at-15-unique-mix-and-look.html?page=all|title=Park Meadows at 15: Unique mix and look|last=Huspeni|first=Dennis|date=15 August 2011|work=Denver Business Journal|accessdate=16 May 2013}} 6. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://m.rockymountainnews.com/news/2006/aug/18/park-meadows-still-packs-em-in/|title=Park Meadows still packs 'em in|last=Forgrieve|first=Janet|date=18 August 2006|work=Rocky Mountain News|accessdate=16 May 2013|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://archive.today/20130630062359/http://m.rockymountainnews.com/news/2006/aug/18/park-meadows-still-packs-em-in/|archivedate=30 June 2013|df=}} 7. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/stories/2004/03/22/daily20.html?page=all|title=Lord & Taylor's Park Meadows store closing|date=24 March 2004|work=Denver Business Journal|accessdate=16 May 2013}} 8. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/stories/2006/09/04/story7.html?page=all|title=Park Meadows plans outdoor shopping to replace Lord & Taylor|last=Moore|first=Paula|date=3 September 2006|work=Denver Business Journal|accessdate=16 May 2013}} 9. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2011/12/15/forever-21-to-move-into-ex-borders.html|title=Forever 21 to move into ex-Borders space at Park Meadows|last=Huspeni|first=Dennis|date=15 December 2011|work=Denver Business Journal|accessdate=16 May 2013}} External links
