Church of St. Sebastian a Roman Catholic parish church, located on the south-eastern outskirts of Wieliczka at St. Sebastian.

A larch church, located on a steep hillside of Babina among centuries-old trees. Its construction was begun in 1581, thanks to the efforts of the then Wieliczka [zupan] Sebastian Lubomirski. Consecration of the temple was made by Cardinal Jerzy Radziwiłł in 1598 .

It is a single-nave, oriented temple with a pentagonal closed prestby that is narrower than the nave. From the left (north) side the sacristy adheres to the presbytery. It was erected as a vote of gratitude for saving the city from the cholera epidemic.

On December 1, 2013, the church was raised to the dignity of the Parish Church by decree of the Krakow Metropolitan of November 20, 2013

Decor

The church has paintings from the 16th century (Madonna with Saint Sebastian and Saint Roch, Saint Andrew, Nicholas and Catherine, Our Lady with Child from 1600. Images of Saint Mary Magdalene and Saint Anna Samotrzeć were preserved from the 17th century.

Almost two hundred years after its construction, the church received a Baroque décor. From this period come the antique organs built on the choir by the Cistercians of Jędrzejów, Eliasz Wykuszewski, and the rococo altar with the image of the saint patron. In 1903 to 1910 the church was restored. At that time, Stanisław Matejko designed the stained-glass windows in the church, and Włodzimierz Tetmajer was entrusted with the execution of artwork.
