It observes a "Tree Model" of lifelong learning.[2] The aim is to restore balance in the four realms of the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health of an individual acting as a person, as well as a member of a family, community and nation.[3][4][5]Learning Blanket[6] is an important part of the Holistic Lifelong Learning. It is a traditional approach to healing by Inuit nations in Canada.[7] In this approach, learning is an ongoing journey and individuals progress through each life stage – infancy and childhood, youth and young adulthood, adulthood, and elderly. It is presented with a range of learning opportunities using sources and Domains of Knowledge including culture, people, and sila (life force or essential energy) as well as sub-domains. The sub-domains include language, traditions, family, community, elders, land, and the environment.[8][9]
