He received his education at Bergen vocational school (Bergens Tekniske skole), then worked as an assistant for architect Adolph Fischer in Bergen starting in 1898. He worked with Holger Sinding-Larsen in Kristiania (now Oslo). In 1905 he emigrated to the US where he was hired as an architect in North Western Terracotta Co. A decade later, in 1916, he moved back to Bergen where he started his company together with architect Einar Vaardal-Lunde from 1948–1969. Alvsaker og Vaardal-Lunde are known for the Strusshamn Church, the main parish church for the municipality of Askøy in Hordaland county, Norway.[1][2] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.kirkesok.no/eng/kirker/Strusshamn-kirke-Askoey|title=Strusshamn kirke, Askøy|language=Norwegian|publisher=Kirkesøk: Kirkebyggdatabasen|accessdate=2014-11-18}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.kirkekonsulenten.no/kirker.htm|title=Oversikt over Nåværende Kirker|language=Norwegian|publisher=KirkeKonsulenten.no |accessdate=2014-11-18}} External links
