He completed his primary education in Trichy and joined St. Augustine's Minor Seminary. He completed his Bachelor of Philosophy and Master of Theology degree from Pontifical Urban University, Rome. PriesthoodHe was ordained a Catholic priest on 19 November 1980. He served as an assistant parish priest at the Holy Redeemer's Minor Basilica, Trichy for one year.[6] Vatican DiplomatHe was appointed as the Charge d’Affaires of the Vatican Embassy in Jordan by Pope John Paul II in 2002. He was appointed as the Apostolic Nuncio to Gambia, Liberia,[7] Guinea and Sierra Leone.[8] He resigned from his services as Apostolic Nuncio to Guinea on 8 Sep 2008.[9] Archbishop George Antonysamy speaks several languages including Tamil, English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Indonesian.
