The 1st Armoured Reconnaissance Brigade was a regular British Army unit during the Second World War. Having three branches in the brigade doing different jobs. One branch was a command group with eight officers, six scour cars and seven light tanks. Second branch was an office and recon group which consisted of an officer, assortment of normal vehicles and a light machine gun. The final admin group contains another assortment of transport vehicles, a water bowser and four light machine guns. HistoryFormed in France in 1940 from the RAC Regiments from the regular divisions. The brigade saw action during the Battle of France. On 26 November 1940 it was converted into the 27th Armoured Brigade. Commanders
