Football BiographyPlaying careerThe Lokomotiv was the first professional team Alexander Dovbiy has played for. In 1974—1975 played for the FC Frunzenets team based in Sumy. Then he returned to Kharkov. In 1976 Alexander was called up for the military service where he played for the army football club in B league FC CSKA Kyiv (based in Kiev). In 1977, he scored 18 goals and became one of top scorers in the season. Alexander's club mate, Nikolay Pinchuck scored 20 goals in that season. After the military service, Alexander spent a season[1] in FC Chornomorets Odesa. Then Alexander moved to FC Metalist Kharkiv in 1979 and spent 3 seasons there. In 1981, he became the winner of the A league and paved the way to the premier league. Alexander finished his career in FC Frunzenets. Teams managedAfter completion the club career, Alexander worked as a faculty instructor at the Kharkov branch of the Kiev State University of Physical Culture and Kharkov State College of Physical Culture No.1. In 1990 — 1991 Alexander worked as a coacher in FC Metalist Kharkiv. In 1993/1994{{citation needed|date=December 2015}} season, Alexander was named head coacher of FC Metalist Kharkiv. Later, Alexander held the position of a football manager in FC Himic Zhytomyr. In 1993/1994 season, Alexander was also a head coacher in FC Neftyanik from Akhtyrka.
