It is situated east of the Black Forest, 8 km north of Donaueschingen, and 6 km southeast of Villingen. Bad Dürrheim was from 1951 until 1978 location of a broadcasting transmitter for mediumwave. MayorsThe mayor is Walter Klumpp. He was elected in March 2003 with 63,28 % of the votes and reelected in 2011 with 97,2 % of the votes.
