Camp NeeKauNis is a Quaker summer camp located in Waubaushene, Ontario, Canada, and is under the care of Canadian Yearly Meeting. NeeKauNis was founded in 1931 with its first camping season in 1932 and has operated primarily in the hands of volunteers since then. Overlooking Sturgeon Bay (part of Georgian Bay), the camp grounds consist of {{convert|32|acre|m2}} of partially forested, elevated land. The Camp operates mainly for 2 months in July and August with limited usage in other times. A typical Camp NeeKauNis program will have around 30 campers with an additional 15-20 staff. HistoryThe Camp NeeKauNis land was scouted out originally by Fred Haslam as a representative of Toronto Monthly Meeting in 1931. The purchase of the original land was funded by Albert Rogers, whose family's trust fund to this day helps to run the camp. In 1938, an additional purchase was made to expand the property to {{convert|15|acre|m2}}. The camp was sought out as a retreat centre for Young Friends in Toronto, however has since expanded to serve the entire Quaker community in Canada.
