Berry's Wood is an Iron Age hill fort situated close to Newton Abbot in Devon, England. The fort is situated at about 75 metres above sea level on a commanding promontory above the River Lemon with views down the Teign Estuary.[1] It lies on the hilltop above Bradley Manor. The fort was first described in print in 1950 by Aileen Fox, who said that its defences consist of a single limestone rampart and a ditch. Its main entrance at the south-eastern end is approached by a sunken lane, and at the north-western end there is a postern. It encloses an area of about 11 acres and the remains of huts can be seen inside.[2] References1. ^{{cite book | last = Sellman | first = R.R. | title = Aspects of Devon History | publisher = Devon Books | location = Exeter | year = 1985 | isbn = 0-86114-756-1 | chapter = The Iron Age in Devon (ch.2) | pages = 11 (Map of Iron Age hill forts in Devon including Berry's Wood) }} {{coord|50|31|40|N|3|37|43|W|display=title|type:landmark_region:GB}}2. ^{{cite book |title=Newton Abbot, The Story of the Town's Past |first=Derek |last=Beavis |publisher=Barracuda Books |location=Buckingham |year=1985 |isbn=0-86023-236-0 |page=19}} 2 : Hill forts in Devon|Newton Abbot |
