Holscher attended Santa Monica Junior College, where he was a member of the golf team. He won the 1950 California State Junior College Championship.[1] Holscher's best years as a PGA professional were in the mid-1950s. He won the Labatt Open in 1954. In 1955, he finished 2nd in the Philadelphia Daily News Open after a playoff loss to Dick Mayer; Holscher and Art Wall, Jr. finished T-2 in the Tucson Open won by Tommy Bolt in that same year.
