He attended Slabodka Yeshiva in Bnei Brak and for one year learnt in the Lakewood Yeshiva under Rabbi Shneur Kotler. After returning to Bnei Brak he became the Mashgiach Ruchani of the Slabodka yeshiva, and served as the Mashgiach of Yeshivas HaRan in Jerusalem. His mother, Rebbetzin Denah Weinberg, founded the EYAHT College of Jewish Studies for Women. Family LineageHis paternal grandfather, Yitzchak Mattisyahu Weinberg, was a Slonimer Hasid and a grandson of the first Slonimer Rebbe, Rabbi Avrohom Weinberg.[2] His paternal grandmother, Hinda, was a descendant of Rabbi Jacob ben Jacob Moses of Lissa (1760–1832), author of Nesivos Hamishpat. He is also a descendant of Rabbi Tzvi Ashkenazi (1656–1718), who was the great-grandfather of Rabbi Jacob ben Jacob Moses of Lissa.[3] He is also related to Ephraim ha-Kohen (1616–1678), who was the grandfather of Tzvi Ashkenazi, author of "Sha'ar Efrayim,".[4][5] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.jewishtribune.ca/TribuneV2/200912082440/Jerusalem-Yeshiva-inaugurates-building-once-used-by-missionary.html|title=Jerusalem Yeshiva inaugurates building once used by missionary|last=Zuroff|first=Avraham|date=8 December 2009|publisher=Jewish Tribune|accessdate=24 February 2010|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110809054950/http://www.jewishtribune.ca/TribuneV2/200912082440/Jerusalem-Yeshiva-inaugurates-building-once-used-by-missionary.html|archivedate=9 August 2011|df=}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/834580/jewish/The-Rosh-Yeshivah-and-the-Shliach.htm|title=The Rosh Yeshivah and the Shliach|last=Berkowitz|first=Avraham|publisher=Chabad.org|accessdate=24 February 2010}} 3. ^{{JewishEncyclopedia|inline=1|article=JACOB BEN JACOB MOSES OF LISSA|url=http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/8417-jacob-ben-jacob-moses-of-lissa|author=Solomon Schechter and Max Schloessinger|accessdate=March 14, 2012}} 4. ^{{Cite Jewish Encyclopedia|title=EPHRAIM BEN JACOB HA-KOHEN|url=http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/5799-ephraim-ben-jacob-ha-kohen|accessdate=March 20, 2013}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://hebrewbooks.org/1405|title=שער אפרים|work=HebrewBooks.org|accessdate=March 21, 2013}} External links
