Widewater is a hamlet in northern Alberta, Canada within the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River No. 124.^[1] It is located on Highway 2, approximately {{convert|225|km}} northwest of Edmonton.

Demographics

As a designated place in the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Widewater recorded a population of 348 living in 128 of its 138 total private dwellings, a change of {{percentage|{{#expr:348-351}}|351|1}} from its 2011 population of 351. With a land area of {{convert|2.06|km2|sqmi|abbr=on}}, it had a population density of {{Pop density|348|2.06|km2|sqmi|prec=1}} in 2016.^[2]

As a designated place in the 2011 Census, Widewater had a population of 351 living in 115 of its 128 total dwellings, a 119.4% change from its 2006 population of 160. With a land area of {{convert|2.09|km2|sqmi|abbr=on}}, it had a population density of {{Pop density|351|2.09|km2|sqmi}} in 2011.^[3]
