It was described by Klots in 1940.[1] It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from California.[2] The length of the forewings is 11.5-13.5 mm. The ground colour of the forewings is brown, somewhat lustrous, darker around the silvery-white stripe, especially between it and the costa. The hindwings are pale brown, slightly darker apically and terminally.[3] References1. ^{{cite web |url=http://globiz.pyraloidea.org/Pages/Reports/TaxonReport.aspx |title=GlobIZ search |website=Global Information System on Pyraloidea |accessdate=2014-07-15 }} {{Taxonbar|from=Q18087151}}{{Crambini-stub}}2. ^mothphotographersgroup 3. ^North American Crambus.
