The Dar Fur Daju are an ethnic group in the Sudan. They are one of seven distinct ethnicities comprising the Daju people. They speak the Nyala language.[1] They live in Southern Darfur in the Sudan in the Daju Hills 40 km northeast of Nyala - although most of this population has fled to Chad as a result of the Darfur Conflict.[2] There is also a small population of Dar Fur Daju near the city of Lagowa in the Nuba Hills. Their total population numbers 80,000 (1993).[1] They are mostly Muslim.[3] References1. ^1 Ethnologue: "Daju, Dar Fur - A language of Sudan" retrieved September 1, 2013 2. ^[https://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/19/opinion/19kristof.html New York Times: "The Face of Genocide" By NICHOLAS D.
