The award citation states that: {{quote|Of particular importance is his early work improving strategies for automated sequencing of proteins and identifying posttranslational modifications. These analyses contributed to concepts regarding the evolution of protein structure and function through gene duplication, the gradual divergence of their sequences, and gene fusions. He was among the first to draw attention to the power of mass spectrometry technique]]s for protein characterization.[2]}}Walsh has published 58 papers.[3] References1. ^{{cite web|title=Faculty profile|url=http://depts.washington.edu/biowww/pages/faculty-Walsh.shtml|publisher=University of Washington, Department of Biochemistry|accessdate=2014-07-30}} 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.bnl.gov/iapsap/edmanaward.asp|title=Pehr Edman Awards|publisher=International Association for Protein Structure Analysis and Proteomics|accessdate=2014-07-30}} 3. ^[https://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=%22KA+Walsh%22&btnG=&hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C33Google Scholar author listing] External links{{Authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Walsh, Kenneth Andrew}} 5 : Living people|University of Washington faculty|Canadian biochemists|University of Toronto alumni|Year of birth missing (living people) |
