Born in Radom, after World War II he graduated from a local lyceum and moved to Warsaw. His radio career started by accident in 1953, when he started reading books to fellow patients in a hospital where he had been recovering from a spine injury. The patients appreciated his voice and nominated him to a nationwide contest for a new speaker of the Polish Radio, which he won.[2] Soon afterwards he also started working for the Polish Television as a voice-over reader. He has been awarded the Silver Cross of Merit, Officer's Cross and Commander's Cross (2007) of the Order of Polonia Restituta.[3] References1. ^{{cite web | author= | title=Komunikaty dźwiękowe | publisher= | year= | work=Metro Warszawskie | url=http://www.metro.waw.pl/komunikaty-dzwiekowe.html | accessdate=2011-05-20 |language=pl}} {{authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Jasienski, Ksawery}}{{Poland-bio-stub}}2. ^{{Cite web | last = Sven | title = Człowiek o aksamitnym głosie odwiedził Wałbrzych | work = Walbrzyszek | accessdate = 2011-05-20 | date = 2010-10-16 | url = http://www.walbrzyszek.com/news,single,init,article,6820 |language=pl}} 3. ^{{cite web |title=Spikerzy i lektorzy Polskiego Radia|url=http://acn.waw.pl/spikerzy/jasienski.htm | accessdate=5 July 2011|language=pl}} 6 : 1931 births|People from Radom|Commanders of the Order of Polonia Restituta|Recipients of the Silver Cross of Merit (Poland)|Polish male voice actors|Living people |
