It chronicles exchanges between King and O'Nan about the Red Sox's {{By|2004}} season, beginning with an e-mail in summer 2003, and throughout the 2004 season, from Spring Training to the World Series. The book was dedicated to the memory of Victoria Snelgrove, an Emerson College student who was killed during the massive celebrations after the 2004 ALCS, when she was shot in the face with pepper pellets by police officers that had been improperly trained and had responded with excessive force.[1] On May 4, 2007, Boston Globe announced that HBO would be adapting it into a six-part miniseries for 2008.[2][3] In September 2008, King wrote, "The script is just goddamn hilarious."[4] References1. ^Suffolk County's D.A.'s Office: Press Office {{Stephen King}}{{Boston Red Sox}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Faithful (Book)}}{{sport-book-stub}}{{Baseball-stub}}2. ^Red Sox brass make pitch for star treatment in HBO's 'Faithful' 3. ^[https://archive.is/20120903134446/http://www.darkhorizons.com/news07/070505d.php Red Sox "Faithful" Comes To HBO] 4. ^{{cite web |url= http://www.stephenking.com/stephens_messages.html|title= Self Interview|accessdate=2008-09-25 |work= Messages From Stephen|publisher= StephenKing.com|date= 2008-09-04}} 3 : Major League Baseball books|Boston Red Sox|Books by Stephen King |
