The population was 1,874 at the 2010 census.[3] It is included in the Cleveland, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area. GeographyHopewell is located at {{coord|35|14|6|N|84|54|19|W|type:city}} (35.234923, -84.905227).[4] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of {{convert|7.1|sqmi}}, all land. DemographicsAs of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,815 people, 688 households, and 564 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 250.4 people per square mile (96.7/km²). There were 713 housing units at an average density of 98.4/sq mi (38.0/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.09% White, 1.93% African American, 0.39% Native American, 0.11% Asian, 0.61% from other races, and 0.88% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.65% of the population. There were 688 households out of which 34.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.1% were married couples living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.0% were non-families. 15.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 2.89. In the CDP, the population was spread out with 23.6% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 28.4% from 25 to 44, 30.8% from 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 101.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.5 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $43,973, and the median income for a family was $46,250. Males had a median income of $34,429 versus $23,981 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $21,391. About 8.9% of families and 9.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.1% of those under age 18 and 10.9% of those age 65 or over.
