Its seat is the village of Zbójna, which lies approximately {{convert|22|km|mi|0}} north-west of Łomża and {{convert|93|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} west of the regional capital Białystok. The gmina covers an area of {{convert|185.77|km2|sqmi|1}}, and as of 2006 its total population is 4,339 (4,424 in 2011).
