Greenhouse Scholars ( )is a 501(c)(3) education organization that cultivates leaders who will change low-income families and communities. Greenhouse Scholars uses what they call a Whole Person(c) approach, which was developed to help these students get the most out of college, graduate, and are prepared to succeed in their personal and professional lives. The vision of Greenhouse Scholars is to create a community of leaders who will evolve the communities of the world. Its values are leadership, community, relentlessness, and accountability.

The 8 program components of the Greenhouse Scholars Whole Person(c) approach

Impact: Scholars are provided a strategic framework to elevate their impact, both individually and as a group, and they inspire younger generations of students from low-income communities.

Mentorship: Connects Scholars with community leaders who guide, encourage, and inspire.

Peer support: Scholars celebrate and support one another through year-round communications and by gathering in small groups across the country on a specific day annually.

Summer Symposium: An annual, multi-day event where Scholars receive leadership training and attend workshops focused on core values. Past speakers have included James C. Collins, Governor Bill Ritter, and Senator Hank Brown, and seminars have been conducted by Outward Bound and the Aspen Institute.

Professional Network: Successful professionals from the Greenhouse Scholars community engage with Scholars, broadening their networks and connections. This diverse network motivates Scholars to think strategically about their direction and impact and provides essential insights and connections in to the professional world.

Internship: Scholars are coached through the process of finding and making the most of their internships, along with other in-person learning opportunities at various organizations.

Skills Modules: The broad range of our community's expertise is shared with our Scholars through targeted, modular online content to help develop leadership and professional skills.

Financial Support: Scholars may apply for two forms of financial support each year: a 4-year renewable scholarship award of up to $5,000 and 'flex funding' grants of up to $2,000 per project (up to 3 times per year). Flex Funding grants support a wide range of projects and experiences related to the vision and values of Greenhouse Scholars.
