Most contain the remains of German soldiers from the 97th Corps that fell at the beginning of May 1945. The Cemetery Wall Mass Grave ({{lang-sl|Grobišče za pokopališkim zidom}}) is located next to the west side of the cemetery wall and contains the remains of an unknown number of soldiers.[3] The Kršnjak Mass Grave ({{lang|sl|Grobišče Kršnjak}}) is located about 120 m east of the village cemetery and contains the remains of six prisoners of war.[4] The Brežine Mass Grave ({{lang|sl|Grobišče Brežine}}), also known as the Lokva Mass Grave ({{lang|sl|Grobišče Pri Lokvi}}), is located on the east edge of the village and contains the remains of six prisoners of war.[5] The Christmas Valley Grave ({{lang|sl|Grob Božična vala}}) is located in the woods east of the village and contains the remains of one soldier.[6] The Branček Grave ({{lang|sl|Grobišče Branček}}), also known as the Šušnjak Grave ({{lang|sl|Grobišče Šušnjak}}), is located on the south side of the road east of the village at a former lime kiln and contains the remains of one soldier.[7] The Little Bridge Grave ({{lang|sl|Grob pri mostiču}}) is located at the crossroads south of the settlement. It contains the remains of an Italian officer killed by German soldiers.[8] ChurchThe parish church in the settlement is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and belongs to the Koper Diocese.[9] References1. ^Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia 2. ^Ilirska Bistrica municipal site 3. ^Cemetery Wall Mass Grave on Geopedia {{sl icon}} 4. ^Kršnjak Mass Grave on Geopedia {{sl icon}} 5. ^Brežine Mass Grave on Geopedia {{sl icon}} 6. ^Christmas Valley Grave on Geopedia {{sl icon}} 7. ^Branček Grave on Geopedia {{sl icon}} 8. ^Little Bridge Grave on Geopedia {{sl icon}} 9. ^Koper Diocese list of churches {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090306055057/http://kp.rkc.si/dokumenti/zupnije/seznam.pdf |date=2009-03-06 }} External links
