After participating in different rock bands throughout the Devon music scene, the band emerged under the name of The Fallen State in 2013 after the break-up of local bands Tequila Rockingbird and Load, Click, Shoot. The current line-up consists of Ben Stenning (vocals), Jon Price (lead guitar), Dan Oke (rhythm guitar), Greg Butler (bass) and Rich Walker (drums). The Fallen State have released five EP's to date: The Fallen State (2014), Two (2014), Three (2014), Crown Your Shadows (2016), and The View From Ruin (2017).[1] HistoryEarly Years - Self titled EP, 'Two', 'Three' (2014)The Fallen State entered the studio in late 2013 to release what would be their first EP.[2] The EP was produced and mixed by David Jones formerly of Heaven's Basement, and mastered by Terry Walker with the EP being released independently. Music videos were released in support also, with a single video release for 'Hope In Revival' and a lyric video for 'Get Up'. [3] The release of this EP, and the additional 'Two' and 'Three' EP's released that same year saw the band tour spend a majority of 2015 on the road in support of these releases with artists such as The Treatment, Trapt and US Grammy winning Halestorm, as well as appear at renown festivals such as Camden Rocks. Crown Your Shadows (2016)Following the successes of the first three EP releases, The Fallen State took some time off at the end of 2015 to head back to the studio in preparation for the recording of their new release, 'Crown Your Shadows'.[4] The video release for the main single from the EP, 'Sinner' saw the band feature as support for both Black Stone Cherry [5]and Three Doors Down in Ireland and the UK respectively. [6] Further to this, the band also went on their very first headline tour of the UK. The View From Ruin (2017)In early 2017, The Fallen State announced they had finished recording their fifth EP set to be titled 'The View From Ruin'. In an interview announcing their upcoming effort, the band added that "The View From Ruin is without a doubt the product of maturity in our songwriting...it represents everything we have experienced so far , and we are beyond excited to show it to the world."[7] The unveiling of the first single from the EP 'Nova' single saw the band chart at Number 4 on the UK ITunes and feature on Kerrang!, Scuzz TV, and BBC Radio. [8] [9] The single also saw the release of a music video for 'Nova', which in a interview supporting the single, guitarist Jon Price dubbed "the most heartfelt song we have released to date. [10] To accompany the EP, the band announced several festival appearances at Camden Rocks [11], Wildfire Festival, Ramblin' Man Fair[12], Amplified Festival, and land a slot at [13] Download Festival [14], as well as embark on a 14-date UK tour with Puddle Of Mudd and Trapt. [7] New Music/Debut Album (2018-present)Throughout 2018, the band continued touring in support of The View From Ruin release, with a headline UK tour once again at the beginning of 2018,[15]debuting two new songs 'For My Sorrow' and 'Can't Fight The Feeling'.[16] The successes of their headline tour saw the band invited as support for both Seether and for 6 dates across the UK [17] and Ireland with Tremonti.[18] [19] As of October 2018, the band have written and recorded material for their debut album, [20] which is yet to be named. Further to this, the band have announced dates across October and November with New Zealand act, Devilskin. [21][22]Their first full length release is expected in early 2019.[23] To coincide with the release of their debut album, the band announced that they will be supporting Pop Evil [24] in the UK and also performing in mainland Europe,[25] a first for the band.
