Burke, and starring Morgan Freeman, LL Cool J, Justin Timberlake and Kevin Spacey. Synopsis{{More plot|date=March 2015}}There is a force of corrupt cops called F.R.A.T, and the policemen who work for F.R.A.T are above the law. That is, until Joshua Pollack, an Edison journalist discovers a glitch in the system. Now, with the help of those who he trusts, he might be able to take F.R.A.T down. Cast
ProductionWhile the film was in production, some people speculated it was based upon the title of the film and the limited story details with corrupt officers that the film was based upon the New Jersey township of Edison, since the township's recent (as of that time) controversy involving its police force.{{citation needed|date=September 2011}} Writer and film director David J. Burke claimed that the name "Edison" was derived from its common association with the inventor and business leader Thomas Edison, which led to thoughts of "electricity, power and industry."[4] ReleaseThe film was originally supposed to see a US release in the spring of 2005; however, due to its poor reviews from critics after its screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, its release to cinemas in the US and most other countries was cancelled. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released the film, originally titled Edison, as Edison Force, direct–to–video on July 18, 2006.[5] The film was released in theaters in Netherlands on March 12, 2006. ReceptionOn Rotten Tomatoes Edison has an approval rating of 0% based on reviews from 6 critics, with an average score of 2.5/10.[6] In September 2017, when a Twitter user asked his followers to "name one bad Kevin Spacey movie", Spacey himself responded and simply wrote Edison.[7] References1. ^{{cite news |author=Stax |title=Movie Stars, Dirty Cops Found in Edison |url=http://www.ign.com/articles/2003/12/03/movie-stars-dirty-cops-found-in-edison |work=IGN |date=December 3, 2003 |accessdate=September 22, 2013}} 2. ^{{cite news |author=XSSIV |title='Edison' cast includes Freeman, Spacey and LL Cool J |url=http://www.movieweb.com/news/edison-cast-includes-freeman-spacey-and-ll-cool-j |work=MovieWeb |date=December 3, 2003 |accessdate=September 22, 2013}} 3. ^{{cite web | url = http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=edison.htm | title = Edison Force | publisher = Box Office Mojo | accessdate = June 19, 2009 }} 4. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.writingstudio.co.za/page1156.html |title=The writing studio — The art of writing and making films — EDISON |publisher=Writing Studio |accessdate=July 12, 2009 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20090825192821/http://www.writingstudio.co.za/page1156.html |archivedate=August 25, 2009 |df= }} 5. ^{{cite web | url = https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FI8MPM | title = Edison Force (2005) | publisher = Amazon.com | accessdate = July 12, 2009 }} 6. ^{{cite web | url = http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/edison_force/ | title = Edison (Edison Force) (2005) | publisher = Flixster | website = Rotten Tomatoes | accessdate = February 7, 2014 }} 7. ^{{cite web | url = https://twitter.com/kevinspacey/status/905757474581602304/ | title = Kevin Spacey's Twitter (2017) | publisher = Twitter | accessdate = September 7, 2017 }} External links
