The 26-story, {{convert|360|ft|m|adj=mid}} tower was completed in 2009 and is completely leased by Microsoft,[3] whose Bing development team as well as many AI teams are headquartered there. It is located adjacent to the Bellevue Transit Center and its sister building, City Center Bellevue, which was completed in 1986.[1][2] City Center East was originally owned by Beacon Capital Partners before it was sold to Cole Real Estate Investments for $310 million in 2010.[4][5] It was sold again to CommonWealth Partners in 2012, for $347.7 million, a 21 percent increase.[6] The building was originally proposed as a 34-story, {{convert|450|ft|m|adj=mid}} office tower prior to its downsizing in 2005.[1][2] References1. ^1 2 {{emporis|102374|name=City Center East}} {{Bellevue, Washington}}{{Washington-struct-stub}}2. ^1 2 {{cite web |title=City Center Plaza, Tower II, Downtown, Bellevue, WA |url=http://pcad.lib.washington.edu/building/9260/ |work=Pacific Coast Architecture Database |accessdate=January 31, 2018}} 3. ^{{cite news |last=Pryne |first=Eric |date=May 2, 2008 |title=Microsoft to lease Bellevue's City Center Plaza |page=A1 |url=http://old.seattletimes.com/html/microsoft/2004387273_citycenter02.html |work=The Seattle Times |accessdate=January 31, 2018}} 4. ^{{cite press release |date=July 12, 2010 |title=Cole Real Estate Investments Acquires Microsoft Bing HQ in One of the Largest Real Estate Transactions of 2010 |url=https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20100712006196/en/Cole-Real-Estate-Investments-Acquires-Microsoft-Bing |publisher=Cole Real Estate Investments |via=BusinessWire |accessdate=January 31, 2018}} 5. ^{{cite news |last=Stiles |first=Marc |date=May 14, 2010 |title=REIT from Phoenix is buying City Center Plaza for $310M |url=https://www.djc.com/news/re/12017914.html |work=Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce |accessdate=January 31, 2018}} 6. ^{{cite news |last=Stiles |first=Marc |date=November 5, 2012 |title=Microsoft Bing HQ in downtown Bellevue sells for 21% more than two years ago |url=https://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/blog/techflash/2012/11/bings-hq-in-downtown-bellevue-sells.html |work=Puget Sound Business Journal |accessdate=January 31, 2018}} 3 : Skyscrapers in Bellevue, Washington|Skyscraper office buildings in Washington (state)|Office buildings completed in 2009 |
