The district consists of a group of Clovis sites clustered around a jasper outcrop in the Shenandoah Valley. They relate to a group of between 500 and 1000 people who occupied the site about 8300 BC. Archaeological excavations reveal habitations and stone tool workshops.[3] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.[2] References1. ^{{cite web|title=Virginia Landmarks Register|url=http://www.dhr.virginia.gov/registers/register_counties_cities.htm|publisher=Virginia Department of Historic Resources|accessdate=5 June 2013}} {{National Register of Historic Places in Virginia}}{{WarrenCountyVA-NRHP-stub}}2. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://archaeology.about.com/library/glossary/bldef_flintrun.htm|title=About.com, Archaeology: Flint Run Complex |publisher=About.com}} 3 : Archaeological sites on the National Register of Historic Places in Virginia|Historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places in Virginia|National Register of Historic Places in Warren County, Virginia |
