Arthur Laing, {{Post-nominals|country=CAN|PC}} (9 September 1904 – 13 February 1975) was a Canadian politician. He was a Liberal Member of the House of Commons of Canada from Vancouver, British Columbia. In 1953, he became leader of the British Columbia Liberal Party just before a provincial election. He defeated Tilly Rolston in the riding of Vancouver Point Grey, but only three other Liberal candidates were elected to the BC legislature that year. He eventually went back to federal politics and served in the cabinets of prime ministers Lester B. Pearson and Pierre Trudeau. The Arthur Laing Bridge, linking Vancouver to Sea Island in Richmond, is named in his honour. Additionally, having served as Canada's Minister of Northern Affairs and National Resources (1963-1968), a peninsula in Canada's northernmost national park, Quttinirpaaq National Park, also bears his name.[1][2] References1. ^http://walterslipchenko.com/pdf/Address%20by%20the%20Hon.%20Arthur%20Laing.pdf 2. ^https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/40/Quttinirpaaq_National_Park_map-fr.png External links
