He later managed Shepshed Charterhouse and Burton Albion and was chief scout at Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa. Storey-Moore was playing in Scunthorpe when he was discovered by a Nottingham Forest scout. In 1972, Storey-Moore was introduced by Brian Clough, then manager of Derby County as a new player, with a fee of £225,000 reportedly agreed.[1] However, he instead opted to sign for Manchester United, managed by Frank O'Farrell.[2] In 1974, he retired due to injury. He had scored 12 goals for United. Storey-Moore represented England once, in a game against Holland in 1970.[3] Storey-Moore later became a bookmaker in Nottingham and worked as Forest's chief scout.[4][5] He went on to work as chief scout at Aston Villa, before leaving the role when Martin O'Neill resigned as manager.[6] References1. ^{{cite news|title=Moore Plays v Airdrie - Clough|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=dwFBAAAAIBAJ&sjid=P6cMAAAAIBAJ&dq=derby%20county%20brian%20clough&pg=5100%2C698769|date=4 March 1972|accessdate=13 October 2013|newspaper=Evening Times|location=Glasgow|page=12}} 2. ^{{cite news| title=£200,000 Ian Storey Moore is welcomed to Old Trafford... |newspaper=Belfast Telegraph |date=7 March 1972 |pages=19–20 | url=https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0002318/19720307/492/0019 |url-access=subscription |accessdate=26 November 2018 |via=British Newspaper Archive}} 3. ^{{Cite web |title=Ian Storey-Moore |work=England Football Online |date=17 July 2016 |accessdate=26 November 2018 |url= http://www.englandfootballonline.com/TeamPlyrsBios/PlayersS/BioStoreyMooreI.html}} 4. ^{{Cite web |title=What footballers did next - former stars who went into business |last=Robinson |first=Dan |work=Nottingham Post |date=17 July 2017 |accessdate=26 November 2018 |url= https://www.nottinghampost.com/news/business/what-footballers-next-former-nottingham-186482}} 5. ^{{cite book|last1=Vacher|first1=Neil|last2=MacDougall|first2=Ted|title=MacDou-GOAL!: The Ted MacDougall Story|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=8lAGDQAAQBAJ&pg=PT243|year=2016|publisher=Pitch Publishing|isbn=978-1-78531-258-8|pages=243–244}} 6. ^{{Cite web |title=Gérard Houllier appointment held up by hitch over Aston Villa caretaker Kevin MacDonald |first=Sandy |last=Macaskill |work=The Telegraph |date=6 September 2010 |accessdate=26 November 2018 |url= https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/aston-villa/7984779/Gerard-Houllier-appointment-held-up-by-hitch-over-Aston-Villa-caretaker-Kevin-MacDonald.html}} External links
