Its local government area is the City of Manningham. At the 2016 Census, Donvale had a population of 12,347.[1] A major Melbourne road, Springvale Road, ends in Donvale. It now houses the Donvale Historical Society [2] DemographicsIn the 2016 census the population of Donvale was 12,347. Of this population 52.3% were female and 47.7% were male. The median/average age of the population was is 44 years of age.[1] Nearly two-thirds (63.4%) of people living in Donvale were born in Australia. The other top responses for country of birth were China 5.6%, Malaysia 3.1%, England, 2.8%, Hong Kong 2.1% and Italy 1.6%.[1] Two-thirds (66.1%) of people living in Donvale speak English only.
